RGS Overland Forum - Terrington, York

Posted on 8th Jun 2010 @ 3:07 PM

Well another weekend and another show, but it was not the normal show type thing.  For a very reasonable fee some 250 or so folk went up to Terrington school near York and saw a number of people, including Tom Sheppard, give a series of lectures on the joys (or otherwise) of Overlanding.

Other speakers included Paul Marsh from Footloose 4x4, Ben Stowe from Yorkshire Landrover Services, Martin Solms, David Palmer, Richard Bennett along with a chap (whose name escapes me) from Landrover Experience plus a couple of others.  There were various traders in attendance offering their wares and a good atmosphere all round.

The whole event was organised mostly by Sam Watson, backed up by the Royal Geographical Society with help from Martin Solms of The Africa Overland Network.  Check the website for more details. http://www.overland-network.com/blog/

This is the second year this event has now run and the weekend was a great success, largely due to Sam Watson's organisation.  I look forward to next year.  Thanks Sam.
