Eezi Awn have been producing rooftents for the last 25 years and is now one of the largest manufacturers of RECVEE Equipment. Since their inception the Eezi Awn name has become synonymous with quality and innovation for rooftop tents and retractable awnings.

The T-Top is manufactured from heavy duty ripstop canvas, double stitched throughout and stretched onto aluminium bows which are fixed to polyurethane coated plywood boards. All the hardware and fittings are anodised aluminium or stainless steel. The tent is available in 3 width options depending on the amount of space you require. They all open to allow a bed length of approx 2.44mt long with headroom of approx 1.2mt inside the tent.

The particular features of the T-Type are its unique 'climb into bedroom' section. This allows you to access up the ladder under the cover of the pull-out roof extenders. This allows you to take of your coat and boots etc. without getting into the tent but under shelter. This is even more of a bonus when used with the side panels.

The tent also has an attached flysheet that covers the whole of the roof and extends over front window and rear extension to provide additional weather protection be it from rain or sun. When fully opened the the tent features pop out side flaps to allow ventilation. As well as internally zipped privacy panels these windows and rear door access feature fully zipped mosquito netting.

The sleeping area has a laminated Hi-density foam and chip mattress with an approved* fabric covering. This mattress folds over and remains in the tent during transit. It is also possible to leave your sleeping bags in the tent during transit.

Inside the tent there are two long storage pockets to allow safe keeping of personal effects. There is an internal bungy mechanism to assist with the closing of tent. This effectively draws in the sides and ends to assist with the fabric when the the tent is folded and closed.

The tent opens and closes by means of the extending ladder which is fitted to the base board. This ladder also supports the tent when open.

Once the the tent is open the side and rear panels can be installed to create an entire room 'downstairs' These panels are all individual, sides, back etc. This allows great versatility in how you use this section by only adding the cover you need. For example in wilderness camps you may only want one side and the end in place to enclose you cooking / working area. The ground sheet is also separate, again this provides a versatile solution because you are able to take out the groundsheet completely to keep the area clean. For example if you are cooking and spill some food on the floor it is easily cleared away. These side panels and groundsheet are all supplied in a separate bag and again will store in the tent when on the roof.

The whole package is complemented by a transit cover which covers the entire closed tent and ladder and secures tight with a pull cord mechanism. This pull cord system is favoured over the zipped method to ensure trouble free use. Experience has shown that with the best will in the world Zips can clog and break at the most inconvenient of times. There are additional straps that also pull down to reduce the amount of flap on the cover whilst driving.

The basic set-up time for pitching these tents is about 10 - 15 minutes with another few minutes to fit the side panels of the downstairs room. It takes a similar amount of time to pack the tent back down again for transit.

The tents can be mounted onto most vehicles with a suitable roof mounting system. This can either be a flat roof rack or sturdy roof bars. (we usually recommend 3 of these) The tent can be mounted to open side ways or long ways down the vehicle. The latter being the best use of the room for most 4x4 users but those with other commercials such as VW combi's will have the tent opening over the side to allow access through the side door. The weight varies from model to model but assume between 55kg and 75kg depending on the model. (Obviously you need to ensure that your vehicle can take this amount of weight and also the weight of the users of tent!)

The prices quoted are inclusive of all the equipment described above and VAT. What is not included is the ladder extension piece which may be required for some higher vehicles and any fitting or delivery costs.
